Stewart-Richfield Cavaliers

Info About
 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels

Things to consider before bringing a Cavalier into your life:

* They are the most gentle and loving of all dogs.
* They are the ultimate companion.
* They shed.
* They need to be brushed at least once a week, to keep out the mats.
* Crate training is a benefit, it gives the Cavalier a real place to call his own, it is not a punishment.
* They must be a house pet and kept inside with the family.
* They do not tolerate extreme heat or cold.

Recommended Reading

For first time owners, I recommend:

Barron’s The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. A paperback book with tons of useful information, average cost around $7.00.  This handy little book will get you through every stage of your new pups development.

Guarantee
The puppies from Stewart-Richfield Cavaliers are always placed with a two year health guarantee, this covers the heart, hips and patellae. Puppies are weaned at about 5-6 weeks old and can be placed with their "forever family" after the age of 9 weeks. This gives the puppy an opportunity to become well socialized with many people and the adult Cavaliers. Weaned puppies play with the adults, are started on house training and crate training. They will have been to the vet for a checkup, had the appropriate shots and wormings. Pet homed puppies are placed with limited AKC registration, spaying or neutering is required. Show prospects are generally placed on a co-ownership. I will send a copy of my contracts upon request. References are required from prospective families and I will gladly provide references, from families having one of my pups, to those wishing them.
